About this deal

Wine spirit, the soul of the gin, is produced by using Galician Albariño grapes, and this distillate is macerated with 11 botanicals, 6 which are native to Galicia, Samphire, Sage Bay, Lemon Verbena, Eucalyptus and Peppermint. Once you have subscribed your subscription is active within immediate effect to take advantage of the exclusive offers, discounts and more. Nordés unique character is inspired by its origin in Galicia and the freshness of the Atlantic ocean. It also has 11 botanicals, 6 of which grow wild in Galicia and give it its fresh, balsamic character.

The General Wine Company sources wines from all over the world, but with a particular focus on small, independent producers. To further give the gin that authentic provenance, Nordés turned to botanicals native to the region – sage, laurel, verbena herb, eucalyptus and peppermint.I was first introduced to Nordes on a recent trip to Spain, where a local bartender insisted it was one of Spain’s best gns, and that it was unique enough that I’d take serious notice. Made using a pomace from Albarino grapes, the botanicals include juniper, ginger, hibiscus and liquorice, resulting in a unique and intriguing gin. On its own, it’s delicious served up over ice and gently sipped, but if you’re insistent on mixing, it’s lovely with tonic, blended up in to a variety of summery cocktails, and even served up with a fresh edible flower in the chicest of martinis. The flavour is floral and robust, slightly perfume-y on the nose, but really satisfying on the palate.

What you need to know about reviews: All my reviews are my honest opinions based upon my own personal tasting. With Nordés, what you get on the nose is pretty much the taste – fresh and fruity with flavours of peach and strong floral notes.Throughout this fruitful period, he established a healthy rapport with the great and the good of the local wine scene, affording him access to their distinguished cellars. A white wine grape, the Albarino (aka the Cainho Branco), which grows plentifully in Galicia, and is traditionally used to make brandy. The 6 local botanicals are essential in giving Nordés its unique aroma, which evokes the green freshness that is typical of Galicia. And in fact it was - so much so that for those looking for a less sweet version of this drink, could easily dial back on the Luxardo and rely on the Nordes to even up some of that flavor.

These are sage, laurel, verbena herb, eucalyptus and peppermint, glasswort, juniper, ginger, cardamom, hibiscus flower and black tea.Content on this site is not intended to substitute for advice given by medical practitioner, pharmacist, or other licensed health-care professional. To create that Galacian spirit they needed Galician flavors to do that they started with something they most understood. It makes some rocking gin and tonics, or better yet gin tonicas, and some classic cocktails, but it’s not a gin that will be a workhorse in terms of what you can successfully pair it with.
