About this deal

The explosive saga of high school chemistry teacher-turned-meth kingpin Walter White is available in its entirety, including all 62 uncut, uncensored episodes, in an exclusive collectible tin box featuring the original Heisenberg illustration etched on the cover. Inside 'Breaking Bad' (HD, 22 min.) - Five more episode-based featurettes are included here, each covering one of the episodes found on Disc 2. Episode 410 Extended and Alternate Scene (SD, 5 min.) - Watch the full scene of Saul informing Ted about his great aunt's death. Featuring more than 50 hours of bonus content, including the 135 minute long documentary “No Half Measures: Creating the Final Season”, chronicling behind-the-scenes of the final season, from filming the first table read to the very last day on set and everything in between. Inside 'Breaking Bad (HD, 20 min.) - All-in-all there are 21 of these four- or five-minute analytical featurettes in this set; however, only the first five are found on disc one – one featurette per episode. Each of these individual videos covers one episode or is dedicated one specific aspect of the series. If you were watching the series one episode at a time, these videos would be helpful recaps of the past episodes.

Jesse’s Journey: Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman – A look at the character Jesse Pinkman and the man who played him, Aaron Paul. Inside 'Breaking Bad' – Making of Episode 505: 'Dead Freight' (1080i, 4:23, Disc 2) – As expected, dive a little deeper into making of the intense train sequence. Episode 410 ('Salud') Commentary - With Aaron Paul, RJ Mitte, Giancarlo Esposito, Steven Bauer, Peter Gould, Gennifer Hutchison and Michelle MacLaren. Extended Scenes: 'We'll Be Careful' (HD, :54, Disc 2) – Hear a little more about Jesse's rationale behind walking away from the meth business. I wish this short extension would have made it into the actual episode.Superlab Tour (HD, 3 min.) - Set designer Michael Flowers walks us through the superlab and explains each of the pieces of equipment used in the cook process. This featurette is rather repetitious considering there were already three other devoted to the superlab (in the Inside 'Break Bad' featurettes) and a full set tour.

Commentary with Vince Gilligan, Bryan Cranston, RJ Mitte, Michael Slovis and Dennis Milliken - As always, these commentaries are fun, informative and absolutely entertaining. To avoid repetition, I will only list notable aspects of the subsequent commentaries. Episode 406 ('Cornered') Commentary - With Vince Gilligan, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Jonathan Banks, Gennifer Hutchison, Stewart Lyons and Michael Slovis. Gale's Karaoke Video (HD, 4 min.) - If you have already seen 'Season 4,' you'll remember that among the evidence collected at Gale's house is a video of him doing karaoke to Peter Schilling's "Major Tom." Episode 402 ('Thirty-Eight Snub') Commentary - With Aaron Paul, Betsy Brandt, Melissa Bernstein, Thomas Golubic, Michelle MacLaren and George Mastras. Here’s more good news: Random Space Media’s box set includes essentially the same special features as the previous Sony Blu-rays. Here’s a look at what you get, broken down disc by disc… BREAKING BAD was created by writer/director/producer Vince Gilligan (TV’s “The X-Files”), who also served as executive producer with Academy Award ® winner Mark Johnson ( Rain Man, 1988’s Best Picture ) and Episode 406 Extended and Alternate Scene (SD, 3 min.) - Watch more of Walt collecting the key from the car wash.Episode 401 Extended and Alternate Scenes (SD, 2 min.) - Watch alternates takes from a henchman's exceptionally graphic death sequence.

Bryan Cranston: Director – Go on set with Bryan Cranston as he directs the first episode of the season entitled "Blood Money." The first season is all about exploring whether a good man can dabble in an evil industry without going to the dark side. Can a good guy do the bad things that it requires without becoming bad himself? ' Season Two' shows the unlikely duo getting in over their heads via competing against and selling to local drug distributors. ' Season Three' shows the repercussions of working for "the man" after being their own bosses for the first two seasons. And 'Season Four' is ... something else. The Ultimate Chess Match – Members of the cast and crew discuss Walter White and Gus Fring’s extraordinary and complicated battle of wits and their struggle for Jesse’s allegiance.

Random Space Media’s box set includes all 62 episodes of the series (and the feature film) in 1080p HD in their original aspect ratio of 1.78:1. Image quality is generally very solid, with accurate color and solid contrast overall. Breaking Bad was shot on 35 mm film from start to finish (in Super 35 format), so the source is of fine quality. The first season has a slight digitally-processed look to it though, with a bit of unevenness to the color and detail, possibly due to limitations in HD scanning technology when the show was first finished in 2008. It’s not bad in any way, just perhaps a little dated looking. Subsequent seasons get much better, however, and by the end the production values are excellent. Jesse Plemons Audition Footage (HD, 3:22, Disc 2) – Newcomers Plemons is a great addition to the cast as Todd. An alternate version of the script was used for his audition to avoid revealing details about some major plot points involving his character. This audition footage is also presented in HD, but shot in SD. CULVER CITY, CALIF. (September 9, 2013) – Sony Pictures Home Entertainment cooks up a full batch on In addition to releasing the complete set on Blu-ray, SPHE will release BREAKING BAD: THE FINAL SEASON on both Blu-ray and DVD with UltraViolet ™ on Nov. 26. The final season includes the series’ final eight episodes and is loaded with special features, including all-new featurettes, cast and crew commentaries, deleted scenes and more.
