About this deal

Any ideas what you’d like to dress up as? A character from a movie, or something else?” I asked Elyse, hoping to be helpful. Asher is known to be the guy that killed his girlfriend, Bailee. They were really good together, being Prom King and Queen, being the cutest couple in the school. They were the perfect pair in everyone’s eyes. But then she disappeared suddenly without anyone knowing where she went and the main suspect was Asher. And even though he teases my brothers about taking me to Make-Out Point, there’s no way he’d actually make good on that threat. I’ve only ever been the dorky girl next door to him.

But she did it ... and not only did she do it, she even took it up a notch and proposed to the guy! And he cried and held out his left hand in awe, just like every heroine would. smh . The Ruse is so far my least favorite of this series. It has the kind of love triangle that is the result of miscommunication, and that's just so unfair for the 3rd party - Nash. He really does deserve better. My eyes widened and I almost gasped out loud before I caught myself. “What?” I glanced around the table to make sure no one heard what he said. This book, furthermore, had no sex! I can't remember the last time I read a book with no sex ... haha! In fact, now that I think about it, I don't think I ever have. Surprisingly, I didn't really miss it. Sure, I was looking forward to them coming together in that way, but I was more curious about how the leads would resolve their issues. So that's a definite win! Elyse can't believe she got the lead role in the school musical, but her ecstasy soon dissipates when she hears that she will be performing alongside Asher Park, the guy whose reputation in school has everyone terrified and suspicious of him. She's first terrified of him, too, but as she gets to know him better, she realizes that he's a lot more than what people think of him. But how can she fall for Asher when she's already dating her dream crush, Nash Hastings? Now she's confused as her feelings get more and more complicated.

The Facade – Author Judy Corry

Not that anything scandalous had happened those few nights he’d slept in my room. Sadly for me, the only times I’d ever been kissed had happened during a game of Spin the Bottle.

The cheating is in the past, the reader doesn't meet the other woman and there are no replays of his night with other woman.

The Facade (Eden Falls Academy, book 2) by Judy Corry

Any reconciliation we might have going for us had gone down the drain as soon as the baby came into the picture. He’d betrayed me and all the promises he’d made to me when we’d gotten married. And I couldn’t trust him anymore. This book was soooo good. I laughed, I cried (a little, not nearly as much as The Facade), and I swooned so hard! Asher is hands down one of my all-time favorite male characters. He is perfection. And the chemistry between him and Elyse is off the charts. I loved their banter. I laughed out loud so many times in this because Asher is hilarious. He’s confident and hot and fun and tender and I’m so glad we got to know him in this book. Which brings me to my next issue with this story: Vincent was a beta male. Now, if done right the beta male hero can be acceptable to me. I've read a couple of books with beta male heroes in my time and they weren't horrible (the most memorable one being For My Lady's Heart by Laura Kinsale. I loved that book!). The alpha man - both in fiction & real life - will always be my preference, but I can tolerate a beta. Vincent, though, was kind of intolerable. He wasn't done right. He's the type of beta male that make even the most overbearing, ridiculous alpha seem like a catch. Now how did I come to have two brothers who were both seniors but not twins, despite the fact that they shared the same dirty-blond hair and aqua-blue eyes?

Publication Order of Ridgewater High Books

I'm very conflicted about how I feel about this series now. I liked Judy Corry's Ridgewater High series before, and I did enjoy some parts of this book. However, Corry went too far on the steam, in my opinion. This is supposed to be a clean romance. The level of steam is a bit much for the genre, I'd say. If you read this as a clean romance, then you may be disappointed. However, if you don't read it as a clean romance, it probably would be pretty good. They were all seeing a lot of writing success and similar goals and hence convincing them was no problem. The trigger was when Victorine Laskie, who was their best friend, was invited onto a Youtube Livestream alongside several other authors.
