About this deal

The loudest Bluetooth speaker in the JBL PartyBox series and potentially the loudest Bluetooth speaker on the consumer market (there are currently no trust-worthy dB measurement comparisons between the two). The JBL follows the popular JBL Boombox in JBL’s new generation of Bluetooth speakers. While JBL might be late to the party, they’ve certainly used that time to create one of the loudest portable Bluetooth speakers on the market. Not only is this speaker loud, but it comes with RGB LED lighting for full party mode. Battery Their primary purposes are completely different. SoundTouch 30 is a wi-fi speaker (Exos-9 only features Bluetooth). Soundtouch 30 is designed to be part of your multiroom speaker system. SoundTouch 30 features Alexa support and allows you to stream any audio content from your devices via your home wi-fi network. In addition to that, you will find touch controls for options like play pause, a button to link two Exos 9 speakers together, and directional buttons that are used for selecting and tune the EQ on the speaker itself. JBL Boombox is much more rugged than the Exos-9 and it’s actually waterproof ( IPX7). If you need something that you can take with you wherever you go, JBL Boombox is a much better option.

So, there is quite a bit to talk about EXOS 9, it is a unique product with a lot going on for it. First, and foremost, you have to imagine that this is a huge speaker. This ain’t one of those small-ish portable Bluetooth speakers, this is something that will keep your party going if you install it in a large hall. It will also provide a beautiful bass, and I have fallen in love with the bass more than anything from its sound. It should be noted that I have absolutely no affiliation with AIWA, I am not receiving any incentive for this review or to sweeten things out. I’d like to thank AIWA for providing the sample for this review. This review reflects my personal experience with AIWA EXOS 9. Every opinion expressed is mine and I stand by it, the purpose of this review is to help those interested in AIWA EXOS 9 find their next music companion. The RMS Wattage stands for how much continuous power the speaker can handle. Simply put, this means playing a few songs through the speaker. That’s essentially what we want it to do, right? If a speaker has 30W RMS, it means it can comfortably run with 30W of continuous power. On the other hand, if it states it has a peak rating of 30W, it means it can only handle short bursts of 30W power. Peak power We broke this list into two distinct sections: large, loud Bluetooth speakers and the loudest portable Bluetooth section. While we’ve already explained the differences, we separated these products because many of the large Bluetooth speakers on this list don’t fit into what the average consumer is after. Our lightweight section is a more versatile selection that also makes sense buying as your daily driver of Bluetooth speakers at home. Why Trust Us? From audiohaulic’s perspective, the Aiwa Exos bluetooth speaker demonstrate an impeccable design quality, audio voice clarity with a sound signature that is fairly balanced even with the EQ turned off. All of this is possible although you are equipped with the numerous option that you can leverage in tweaking the sound ambience to your liking, using the basic 5-band EQ. Using something like output wattage as a metric is flawed because it doesn’t take into account the efficiency of the speaker design. We also wanted to make sure we don’t recommend speakers that we can’t truly stand by, so we excluded products that offer poor quality or specify volume measurements that aren’t supported by the actual performance.

A paired set of speakers can really add a lot to the sound, both in terms of directional sound improvement due to varying placements and also just having more sound bouncing off the walls. Sound Quality Since the Exos-9 is the product that pulled Aiwa from the ashes, maybe they should have named it “The Phoenix” instead. Either way, the Exos-9 is a dynamite speaker that sounds great, especially outdoors. If Aiwa can add some built-in water protection and some additional smart connection options like Alexa, AirPlay or Google Play, the Exos-9 could come close to that perfect all-in-one speaker. The manufacturers usually advertise the playtime without offering any info about the volume at which the playtime was measured. Aiwa was more honest than other manufacturers – they claim that you can get up to 10 hours at 85dB (but it’s really hard to tell what is 85dB since the volume level is not displayed on the LCD screen). We have managed to get 9 hours at 50% volume but only 3-4 hours at full volume. The battery life and playtime depend on the volume but also on the type of music (bass heavy music means more subwoofer movement which further means shorter playtime). If you are going to charge your Aiwa Exos 9 speaker, make sure you are connecting your USB charging cable into the charging port and not into the Aiwa Exos 9 firmware updating port.

While some of the features you get with the Woburn are not a good user experience, the ease of installation using the Google Home app on either OS makes it an attractive offering. Once you are done with installation, you can connect via WiFi or Bluetooth. Marshal Woburn Multi-room Wireless Speaker Design Aiwa Exos-9 is a battery-operated speaker. The battery is not built into the speaker and it can be removed and replaced. The Soundboks Go is a rugged speaker, and the primary plastic shell feels extremely durable. In terms of weather-proofing, it offers IP65 protection, which is going to be able to keep you safe from dust and most typical splash or rain damage. You’ll also find a removable battery in the Soundboks Go, which makes the Go even more appealing as this allows for easy replacement should the battery give problems or simply deteriorate with time. The Go also provides 40 hours of battery at mid-volume, 10 hours at full volume, 3.5 hours full recharge, about double that of the Gen 3. Sound Quality To start, the Exos-9 is big, heavy and loud, which makes it perfect for kid’s basement parties and both indoor and outdoor get-togethers. Even though the Exos-9 can be used outdoors, it is neither waterproof nor water resistant. Aiwa does offer an optional carrying case which gives the speaker an IPX4 splash and dustproof rating. So among other things, decibels are used to measure voltage and power in your gear – the intensity of a sound or the power level of an electrical signal, by comparing it with a given level on a logarithmic scale – which we talked about earlier in this article. The Marshall Woburn is an incredibly loud and iconic design speaker that makes use of wireless speaker technology to deliver an impeccably balanced sound via Bluetooth, airplay, Chromecast, Spotify Connect and multi-room. The USB powebank port can be used for charging phones or tablets. Assuming that the capacity of the battery is 15,600mAh, you can fully recharge Samsung S9 or iPhone X 5 times.
